Deputy Head (Early Years) - Shrewsbury Cambodia

Shrewsbury School Cambodia will open its Early Years provision in September 2022 and will be located within the Grade A listed Flatiron building which has been built by Meridian in Phnom Penh. The provision for primary and secondary pupils will be opened in September 2024 in a separate location close to Flatiron on land acquired by Meridian.

 The Deputy Head (Early Years) will report to the Founding Principal and ensure the safe and effective recruitment of teachers and opening of the provision in September 2022.

The candidate will demonstrate:

·         Experience of holding a relevant position of responsibility within a successful fee paying early years school in an international setting.

·         Experience in developing new provision within a school. Involvement in establishing a new school desirable.

·         A commitment to the values of Shrewsbury School and its philosophy of Floreat.

·         An appreciation and experience of ensuring growth in pupil numbers.

·         The ability to manage key relationships including teachers and parents.

·         An evident enthusiasm and passion for promoting the school and the educational experience it will provide for its students through all ages.

·         A capacity to be a strong presence in all areas of school and to cultivate a climate of high expectations, creative thinking, innovation and risk-taking. Strong interpersonal decision-making skills.

·         Excellent communication skills at all levels both internally (staff, pupils, parents) and externally (promoting Early Years to potential pupils and parents).

·         Willingness to work hard with energy and enthusiasm.

·         A well recognised teaching qualification & clear evidence of a commitment of professional development – both personally and for those managed.
