Executive Search

Our core service, which provides a proactive and extensive search process from candidate brief drafting to appointment. This includes:

  • In person meeting/s with key client team members

  • Preparing and publishing the candidate brief and making it available to all potential candidates

  • Advising on and organising advertising (where required)

  • Advice on salary and terms

  • 4-5 week proactive search, drawing on our extensive network, fresh research and direct contact, conversation and meetings with potential candidates

  • Candidate assessment and preparation of papers in advance of shortlisting (this will ideally take place in person). Internal candidates are also treated fairly and objectively.

  • Interview preparation, full referencing on all candidates shortlisted and attendance at interviews by a senior member of our team.

  • We update candidates at each stage in the process and make and complete the offer process to the chosen candidates.

In the unlikely event that a candidate is not appointed we would then resume the search to secure a new shortlist.

From this core service, we are able to provide some of its components costed on a per diem basis for our existing clients.

Wild Search has worked with boards and chief executives since 2010 to identify outstanding candidates for leadership, board and senior management appointments and build long term relationships with a growing proportion of repeat business.

The majority of our work has been in finding Chief Executives, Chief Financial Officers (CFO), Chief Operating Officers (COO), Fundraising Directors, Commercial Directors, and Commercial and Sales Directors; as well as chairs, NEDs and trustees. We have extensive experience of working on new roles in established organisations and the appointment of founding Directors, Heads or Chief Executives and board members for new organisations.

We offer a range of services, most of which are included in the full executive search process, but some of which may be provided as a standalone to complement our clients’ own processes.

Merger and Acquisition Reports

Since our formation we have advised education groups on potential acquisitions, providing detailed reports which are based on rigorous research and which make a series of recommendations. We are also able to advise organisations (including schools) on potential partners and groups which they may consider joining. We ensure transparency and sign NDAs where required and are mindful of the sensitivity of this work and the importance of the decisions which governing bodies are having to make during a challenging time for the education sector.

Remuneration Reports

We have advised a wide range of chief executives and boards on remuneration and benchmarking, either to develop their competitiveness, ensure their senior team are treated fairly or as part of a restructuring process. We share a confidential report which is often invaluable in making key strategic decisions.
