Executive Search

Wild Search

We work with boards and chief executives to identify outstanding candidates for leadership, board and senior management appointments.

Wild Search has worked with boards and chief executives since 2010 to identify outstanding candidates for leadership, board and senior management appointments and build long term relationships with a growing proportion of repeat business.

The majority of our work has been in finding Chief Executives, Chief Financial Officers (CFO), Chief Operating Officers (COO), Fundraising Directors, Commercial Directors, and Commercial and Sales Directors; as well as chairs, NEDs and trustees. We have extensive experience of working on new roles in established organisations and the appointment of founding Directors, Heads or Chief Executives and board members for new organisations.

We offer a range of services, most of which are included in the full executive search process, but some of which may be provided as a standalone to complement our clients’ own processes.

“I’m motivated by providing clients with choices and the candidates with an exciting, challenging and rewarding role where they can make a profound and sustained difference to both the organisation and the staff they lead”
— Edward Wild, Managing Director, Wild Search in The Guardian

Advisory

Wild Search bring substantial experience and contacts to enable us to advise new and existing clients at critical times in their evolution. As a consequence, we are well placed to provide strategic and board reviews.

What we advise on

Merger and Acquisition Reports

Since our formation we have advised education groups on potential acquisitions, providing detailed reports which are based on rigorous research and which make a series of recommendations. We are also able to advise organisations (including schools) on potential partners and groups which they may consider joining. We ensure transparency and sign NDAs where required and are mindful of the sensitivity of this work and the importance of the decisions which governing bodies are having to make during a challenging time for the education sector.

Renumeration Reports

We have advised a wide range of chief executives and boards on remuneration and benchmarking, either to develop their competitiveness, ensure their senior team are treated fairly or as part of a restructuring process. We share a confidential report which is often invaluable in making key strategic decisions.

International

Wild Search has a strong network and experience of researching and advising on international leadership and growth, notably through our work in education and publications.

Our track record in search encompasses advising schools and other institutions on appointments in a broad range of territories, ranging from Switzerland to Cambodia and from Brussels to Florence. We have also advised on UK based appointments with an international dimension.

We have also published five reports which focus on both the success and potential for UK schools and colleges to expand overseas:

Exporting Educational Excellence: British Schools Overseas (2020)

Exporting Excellence: Creating Great British Schools Internationally (2019)

World Class Education: A report on education choices for High Net Worth families in the UK and beyond (2018)

Education: The Greatest British Export (2017)

Education: A Great British Export? (2012)

In addition, the UK’s potential influence through education is revealed in our research note on soft power.
