Director (Finance) & Chair- Ipswich Education Limited

Ipswich Education Limited is the owner of Ipswich High School (IHS), a high-performing co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 3 to 18 years, the larger of two schools in the UK owned by the international group

Located on an idyllic 87-acre campus on the banks of the River Orwell, Ipswich High School enjoys an enviable reputation of delivering outstanding academic results whilst maintaining a warm, welcoming and happy community of c470 pupils.

The Director (Finance) will also be Chair of the board. They will work closely with both the owners and other directors of Ipswich Education Limited and provides accountability for the board and also hold the executive team of IHS to account for the School’s financial performance, working closely with the Head and Director of Finance and Operations.

Other key requirements are to:

· Lead the Board in overseeing and reviewing strategic plans and goals and ensure that the School’s work reflects the vision, mission and values.

· Support the strategy of delivering maximum impact for pupils across the full age range for which the School is responsible.

· Enable the Board to review major risks and associated opportunities (eg. to consider development plans and major capital projects).

· Develop strong positive relationships at senior levels with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

· Ensure the Board fulfils its duties to maintain the sound financial health and future sustainability of the organisation, satisfying itself that systems are in place to take advantage of opportunities and manage and mitigate risks.
