Rose Castle Foundation - Director of Development/ Fundraising Director

The Rose Castle Foundation is a relatively new charity which was formed as a result of Rose Castle, Cumbria being vacated by the Bishop of Carlisle. The Castle is set in glorious countryside and is at the centre of a 60 acre estate, with 10 acres of gardens which form a spectacular backdrop for visitors.

A change in ownership has created an opportunity for the Castle to enjoy a new future as a centre for interfaith dialogue and reconciliation and as a venue for conferences. The charity itself operates from Cambridge and Cumbria and provides workshops with a focus on interfaith dialogue (predominantly between Christianity, Islam and Judaism).

The charity is led by Director Sarah Snyder, who works closely with its board of trustees. She is supported by a team of six staff and a growing number of volunteers.

The Foundation seeks to appoint an effective, committed and engaging individual who will work closely with Sarah to prepare and execute a successful fundraising strategy. Key elements to be included will be the funding of the Foundation’s programmes and the endowment thereof, together with the medium-term potential to acquire the Castle.
